Kurume is a city in Fukuoka prefecture, Japan. The population is about 300,000. It is the largest city in the Chikugo area. People in Kurume are kind and modest.
Kurumerians love delicious food. Tonkotsu Ramen, a variety of yakitori, steamed cooked eel and rice dishes, the best green tea and freshly served the sake. Also, you can go there for picking strawberries, blueberries, pears, persimmons and figs.
There is a farmers market that is only for flowers plants and trees.
If you like driving Mt. Kora has a very exciting road to the top of the mountain. There you can see a beautiful panoramic view of the area.
Kurume is famous for its fireworks that can be seen during the summer along the Chikugo river.
